Working at New Forests
Since our inception in 2005, sustainability and delivering results for our clients has been at the heart of what we do. Because sustainability is in our DNA, we attract individuals who are interested in helping our clients solve problems, and doing so with climate, community and impact in mind. The New Forests team all share in our vision of seeing investment in land use and forestry as central to the transition to a sustainable future.
As a global business, we have offices in Australia, Singapore, United States, New Zealand and Africa. We have dedicated regional investment teams that provide local knowledge, on the ground resources and expertise in the markets in which we operate. We believe this combination of global vision and local expertise brings great value to our clients and opportunities to our staff.
Each of New Forests’ dedicated regional investment teams includes a complementary set of skills in due diligence, investment analytics, operations, plus social and environmental management. Our shared services support the business at a local and global level and include investor relations, risk and compliance, human resources, impact and advocacy, fund administration, and financial management.
Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
New Forests has a culture of shared goals and a “one-in-all-in” approach. Collaboration, embracing and harnessing different perspectives is the way we remain leaders in our field and create positive impact.
A culture of inclusion and belonging, along with a diverse team, is our differentiator and critical to our business performance. We value a wide range of experiences around the table to represent the communities in which we operate and drive innovative outcomes.
Gender diversity
New Forests is dedicated to scaling gender diversity in our business and across the industries in which we operate.
Gender diversity is also important to New Forests’ clients as they aim for more equitable representation across their portfolios.
In FY22, women made up 45% of staff at New Forests and 42% of senior leadership roles were held by women.

We drive DE&I education and development across all levels of our business.
Some of the ways we do this are through Diversity, Equity and Inclusion education and development for all our staff; inclusive recruitment practices; talent and succession planning following Equal Employment Opportunity principles; internal gender pay gap tracking.
We offer flexible working arrangements; cultural and religious considerations in leave policies: a focus on using diverse suppliers: and support our portfolio companies to improve diversity and inclusion within their businesses.
Supporting Wellbeing
At New Forests, our people are our priority. We are committed to ensuring that every employee can bring their whole self to work and has the support and development they need to thrive at work and in their personal lives.
Our staff rate New Forests as a great place to work and 90% of our employees said they are proud of the work they do at New Forests.
We aim for continuous improvement by investing in employee career development and conducting bi-annual Engagement Surveys to better understand what our employees value.
