Wood for good – the ultimate renewable
Sarah Clawson, our global head of investor relations visits Mt Gambier in South Australia, where she speaks about the lifecycle of sustainable forestry from the nursery to the mill. |
Sarah talks about the role that timber and land play in climate change mitigation, with 30% of the solution to climate change to come from the land use sector.
Joined by Simon Angove and Georgia Couts from portfolio company Timberlink, they discuss innovation at the mill, and the creation of engineered wood products which can capture and lock up carbon.
Sarah Clawson says,
As we transition to a low carbon economy, we’re going to be looking to replace heavy emitting industries such as cement and steel in buildings, with things like wood. It is ultimately the best renewable product we have.”
