Across Australia and New Zealand, agriculture and forestry are integrated across landscapes. Landowners that can optimise land use based on changing market forces for agriculture, timber and carbon markets, have the potential to produce superior returns.
Agriculture land in Australia consists of almost 380 million hectares, with approximately 5% of this land unused and unproductive*. We see an opportunity to apply a sustainable landscape approach, using the latest technology to improve the land, processes and create value for investors, communities and the environment.
Additionally, as global demand for food increases and environmental pressures intensify, these challenges need to be addressed by investment in sustainable agriculture.
New Forests believes that improving agricultural land management and optimising landscapes for multiple uses, is central to the transition to a sustainable future.

What we do in agriculture
New Forests has been managing agricultural investments as part of our core Australian forest investment funds since 2010. We currently manage broad-acre crops and grazing land in Australia, primarily in New South Wales and Western Australia.
Investors can access a strategy where forestry is integrated with agriculture, or through our dedicated business New Agriculture.
New Agriculture expands New Forests’ existing agribusiness capacity and provides a platform for large scale sustainable agricultural investment and operations management.
Our objective is to generate superior financial returns by investing in agriculture assets and applying our integrated landscape management approach to align production activities with ESG outcomes.
